two questions, well one question and one clarification:

1) who's this gaile guy.. i hear a lot about him but never known who he is.

2) after wintersday ends, ids will not drop anymore, but those who hold on as of now will get to keep them. right?

Gaile Gray is a WOMAN that is a spokesperson for the makers of the game. More like a publicity/ public relations manager.

And I do not care about the icy dragon sword unlike some people. It is just another glowing sword that will get old, even if removed.

It's petition, not pension... pension is what you get after you retire.

Your missing the point. The icy dragon sword is put in that region to get more people exposed to an area that very few went to. Now that the word is out, the job is done. Keeping it open after Wintersday will drop the value of the sword and the memories/excitement we all had when farming this area. I for one think it holds more prestige as an event only item, although I would not mind if they brought it back every Wintersday.

It is not the best sword in the game even if modded, so having it as a novelty (due to it's look) is the only real reason to have one. Making it available after Wintersday would nullify this.

I don't see why it wouldn't stay around. They've already nerfed the drop rate to hell, so why not keep them appearing, albeit rarely.

First that screenshot looks photoshoped, why would there be blacked out text after the question was asked? I think this sword has been in game for a long time, and it will stay in game. There is no reason to take it out. Its not unbalanced in any way. It just hapened that someone found it at the same time as the wintersday update. I wouldnt worry about this too much. If Im wrong, well thats a bummer for me because I dont yet have an IDS.

2. As far as it sounds..yes..so..get one or pay the trader's overpriced demands.

removing makes it very rare which makes it more desirable since everyone wont have one.
On the other hand, being rare makes traders demands easier when demanding 200 to 300k or more for one.

Don't keep IDS.. so that people that have 100 of them in stock can be rich!

Hell no.. keep IDS, in fact make it a collector item to screw those that have 10+ IDS in their storage!

Event only item agreed, after trying at least 20 times to get this Sword for a online girlfriend, I stay Event only It!! Am i being biased probably, but dam that was alot of time spent going there for 3 days!!! Event only!!!

i think if its an event only item, they should not have nerfed the drop rates to hell as they did. i think if you put in the time to go on several farm runs(as i have), you should come out with ONE sword at least. that way those of us that did participate in the granite citadel maddess acutally have the souviner that started it all. i've been on MANY farm runs and have ZILCH to show for it.

Keep it as a event only sword. I havent been able to play once the wintersday update came, so i was nvr able to farm for a IDS, but i still agree it should stay as a event only and disappear after wintersday. I'm just hoping wintersday, as its name suggest, should stay until winter is over. so other words, once spring is here, IDS is gone.

Icy Dragon Swords don't really have anything to do with the holidays compared to the Wintersday items, etc.

ArenaNet should keep them in-game.
